The symmetrical lines actually help me square up my hands and feet without staring at the floor, which I didn't expect from a print mat. Mine sits flat right out of the box too, no curling corners.

I've been using this for my morning flow for about three weeks and the symmetrical lines actually help me square up my hands and feet without constantly glancing at the edges. The tribal motif looks even better in person, too.
